About The Provider
Dr. Macchi is originally from northwest Kansas. He graduated from the University of Kansas in Lawrence with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City. Dr. Macchi completed an internal medicine internship, a neurology residency, a behavioral neurology and neuropsychiatry fellowship, and a palliative care and aging research fellowship with the University of Colorado Anschutz in Aurora. Dr. Macchi spent six years teaching as an assistant professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Aurora. Dr. Macchi’s clinical interests include neurodegenerative conditions, like Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and frontotemporal dementia, with a specific interest in managing neuropsychiatric symptoms from these and other neurologic illnesses. Dr. Macchi's approach to care borrows from those in palliative medicine, addressing issues that extend beyond symptom management, such as quality of life, caregiver/family support, and psychosocial needs.

When not working, Dr. Macchi enjoys downhill skiing, attending live music events, backpacking, and trail running.

Dr. Macchi, went over my tests, and explained everything in a way I understood. Also, he listened to all my questions about my tests, and any other questions I asked other than about the tests. I appreciated his listening and answering my questions of concern, other then the test questions.
