He listened. Did not rush out of the room. I was able to ask all my questions. .....and got answers.

Dr. Witzel is an excellent doctor! I had injured my knee 2 weeks ago and with ice and rest it wasn't improving. I called on Thursday for an appointment and was scheduled to come in Monday. The Durango office called me back and said they could get me in on Friday morning. Dr. Witzel checked my knee very thoroughly, had me stand and gently move it in several positions. He listened to me and then said he suspected it was sprained. I had not taken anti inflammatory meds with any regularily because the pain wasn't constant. Before my visit, he had checked a previous x-ray of my left knee taken 5 years ago and noted that he had found no signs of arthritis in that knee. He told me to apply an ice pack and take the anti-inflamitory meds 3x a day for a week and see if that helped. He gave me a request for an xray in case the knee got worse. After a day of tylenol and ice it was much better. I have my regular yearly check up in a few weeks, but he told me to reach out if the knee does not improve in a week. I feel very confident in his ability to diagnose symptoms and I have reccomended him to many of the new people in our 55+ community.
