About The Provider
Robert E. Glasgow, MD is a general surgeon, and the Senior Medical Director for Surgical Operations at Intermountain Health and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Utah. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science from Stanford University and Doctor of Medicine from the University of California, San Francisco, Dr. Glasgow completed a General Surgery Residency and Health Services Research Fellowship in Gastrointestinal Surgery. He then did a Fellowship in Advanced Gastrointestinal-Foregut Clinical Surgery at the Oregon Clinic.
Dr. Glasgow’s clinical focus is in the area of gastrointestinal surgery with a special emphasis in the management of gastroesophageal and upper gastrointestinal disorders. He specializes in the minimally invasive treatment of benign and malignant disorders of the esophagus and stomach to include reflux disease, hiatal hernias, esophageal motility disorders, peptic ulcer disease, revisional gastric and esophageal surgery, and surgery for cancer of the esophagus and stomach.
Dr. Glasgow’s administrative and research interests are in the area of clinical operations and optimization of quality and value in surgical care.
