About The Provider
Meghan Cirulis, MD is an Assistance Professor of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and Medical Director of the Center for Pulmonary Vascular Disease at Intermountain Health. Dr. Cirulis specializes in the diagnosis and management of pulmonary vascular disease, including pulmonary arterial hypertension, chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH), and related conditions. With advanced procedural expertise in right heart catheterization and pulmonary angiography, a central focus of their practice is invasive hemodynamic assessment to guide individualized treatment strategies. Dr. Cirulis has a special interest in CTEPH and the biology of sex differences in this disease. As a Med-Peds trained physician, Dr. Cirulis is uniquely positioned to bridge the gap in transitional care for adolescents and young adults with pulmonary vascular disease, ensuring continuity across the pediatric-to-adult care spectrum.
Dr. Cirulis's research focuses on sex differences in CTEPH, investigating both the underlying pathophysiology and clinical outcomes that distinguish disease presentation and progression between men and women. She serves as a principal investigator for major therapeutic access trials in pulmonary hypertension, contributing to the advancement of novel treatment options for patients with pulmonary vascular disease. Dr. Cirulis is a recipient of the ATS/ENTELLIGENCE Young Investigator Grant, supporting her ongoing work in this field. Her research program aims to improve understanding of CTEPH biology and translate these insights into more equitable and effective patient care.
Dr. Cirulis grew up in Utah and lives with her spouse and two children, ages 6 and 9. Outside of medicine, she enjoys strength training, mystery novels, and watercolor paintings, and is currently training for an endurance cycling event.
