Leah E. Coffman, NP

Leah is originally from Ohio. She earned a bachelor’s degree at Indiana Wesleyan University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Family Nurse Practitioner at Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio. Following her education, Leah continued living in Ohio. After working as a nurse for 13 years, she accepted her first Nurse Practitioner position at Dayton Children’s Hospital in the Hematology & Oncology Department.

“I believe the health of the physician-patient relationship affects the health of the patient. Active listening, trust-building and partnership with my patient helps nurture our relationship. My job as a physician is to try to understand my patient as a whole so that I can offer individualized education, guidance and evidence-based advice that allows my patient to make important decisions about their health.”

As a family nurse practitioner, Leah enjoys taking care of the whole family and the patient. She is passionate about pediatric care and the underserved. When she is not at work, Leah enjoys hiking, traveling, camping and learning how to stand-up paddle board and mostly spending time with her husband and their five-year-old twins.
