F. David Paulson, PT

David Paulson is a physical therapist at Intermountain Health's Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation - American Fork Physical Therapy in American Fork, Utah. He supports patients in American Fork, Lehi, Pleasant Grove, and surrounding communities, bringing 33 years of experience. He is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy, and holds subspecialties in concussion care, foot and ankle therapy, jaw pain, leg amputee training, post-operative therapy, and spine care.

David is passionate about building a strong therapeutic alliance with each of his patients, partnering with them to achieve the best possible response to therapy. He draws on evidence-based interventions and holds certifications in Trigger Point Dry Needling, Graston Technique, and Orthopedic Manual Therapy.

David earned a Bachelor of Science in pre-Physical Therapy from Brigham Young University in 1988, a Master of Physical Therapy from Baylor University in 1990, and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Baylor University in 2008. He also finds great fulfillment in educating the next generation of physical therapists as an Assistant Professor at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions.

Born in Provo, Utah, and raised in Walnut Creek, California, David served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to Japan before joining the US Army for his physical therapy education. He served on active duty and in the US Army Reserves as a physical therapist, and was mobilized to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany during OIF/OEF from 2005 to 2006. He retired as a Colonel in 2018 with 30 years of combined military service. David has lived in American Fork, Utah, since 1994, and enjoys hiking, biking, and snowshoeing in his free time.
