About The Provider

Dr. Edward (Ted) Maurin is a Colorado native and a graduate of Grand Junction HighSchool. Dr. Maurin received his engineering degree from Colorado State University,belonging to the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honors Society, as well as receiving the CSUSilver Medal Award for Outstanding Senior Engineering Student. He earned his medicaldegree from the University of Colorado, where he graduated with honors. He completedhis residency in neurosurgery at the University of Vermont.

Prior to returning home to Grand Junction, Dr. Maurin practiced in Farmington, NewMexico and Portland, Maine. While in New Mexico, he served as Chief of the Departmentof Neurosurgery, as well as Chief of the San Juan Health Partners. Dr. Maurin joined St.Mary’s Medical Center in 2014, Center for Brain and Spine. He is certified by theAmerican Board of Neurological Surgeons.

Dr. Maurin has broad, ongoing neurosurgical interests that include minimally invasivespine surgery, brain tumors, neuro-trauma, and general neurosurgery. His furtherinterests include surgical management of trigeminal neuralgia, normal pressurehydrocephalus, and pituitary tumors.

Dr. Maurin is full of adventure. When he is not practicing neurosurgery, you will likelyfind him enjoying the outdoors, mountain biking, hiking, camping, fly fishing, hunting,and photography. He is an instrument rated private pilot and enjoys flying and exploringnew destinations.
