About David Kovar

About The Provider

Dr. David Kovar is a cardiologist in Denver and Wheat Ridge, and has been practicing cardiology since 2002. Originally from the Czech Republic, he graduated from Charles University School of Medicine in 1994 and proceeded to complete his Internal Medicine residency, Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Kovar has been actively involved in medical research. He has presented his work at international cardiology meetings and has published articles in reputable journals. Dr. Kovar is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He has unique experiences in health systems throughout the world, practicing medicine in Europe, New Zealand, and Australia. In 2014 to 2015 he spent a sabbatical year with his family volunteering in several African countries and Nepal.

Dr. Kovar has seven board certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiography, Cardiovascular Computer Tomography, and Vascular Medicine. Dr. Kovar, his wife, and two children enjoy traveling, skiing, sailing, scuba diving, backcountry hiking and camping.
