Cannon Nelson, MD

Cannon Nelson, MD, is a family medicine physician at Intermountain Health’s Saratoga Springs Family Medicine in Saratoga Spring, Utah. He supports patients in Saratoga Springs, Lehi, Eagle Mountain, Cedar Fort, and surrounding communities. His clinical interests include musculoskeletal and sports-related injuries, and managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, obesity, mental health concerns, and hypertension. These areas allow him to combine problem-solving with long-term continuity of care, helping patients regain function, prevent complications, and improve their overall quality of life.

As a physician, Dr. Nelson believes every patient should have an active voice in their healthcare. His goal is to provide clear information and medical guidance so patients can make informed choices that align with their goals and values. He emphasizes the importance of taking personal responsibility for health and encourages a physically active lifestyle—with a focus on both cardiovascular fitness and strength training—to support long-term wellness. He also strives to identify and remove barriers that prevent patients from leading active, healthy lives.

Dr. Nelson believes patients are ultimately in charge of their own health. His role as a physician is to serve as a guide—helping people navigate injuries, acute and chronic conditions, and preventive care so we can identify potential problems early and maintain long-term wellness. He sees healthcare as a partnership where physicians and patients work together to support the life each patient wants to live.

Outside the clinic, the Bountiful native enjoys strength training, camping, and spending time outdoors. He values time with his wife, two kids, and dog, Chewy. He’s a lifelong fan of BYU athletics and a big Star Wars enthusiast—whether that’s building Lego sets, watching the movies, reading the comics, or playing the games.
