Anne T. Cahill, MD

Anne Cahill, MD, is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon at Intermountain Health Heart & Vascular - Downtown Cardiac & Vascular Surgery. She specializes in advanced cardiac care and has clinical interests in heart failure, atrial fibrillation, aortic valve disease, and wellness and prevention.

Dr. Cahill is deeply committed to educating patients and their families, whom she believes are essential to every care decision. She recognizes that each patient brings unique goals, challenges, and priorities, and she is dedicated to honoring both their wishes and their recovery journey. She considers it a privilege to care for patients and their loved ones during some of life’s most critical moments.

Her professional passions include high-risk cardiac surgery, cardiomyopathy, and heart failure treatment. Dr. Cahill finds coronary artery bypass surgery and aortic valve replacement especially rewarding for their ability to restore quality of life. She also brings extensive experience in atrial fibrillation surgery and has a special interest in aortic valve repair, an innovative approach that preserves a patient’s native valve and can eliminate the need for lifelong blood thinners—particularly beneficial for younger patients.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Cahill enjoys spending time with her family and embracing the outdoors. She loves snowshoeing, hiking, skating, biking, and fishing, and feels most at home in the woods. She is also exploring Montana's adventures, including fishing and hunting in its beautiful countryside. Travel is another lifelong passion that inspires her appreciation for different cultures, art, and cuisine around the world.
