About The Provider
Amanda Sims, FNP-C, DNP, works with the bone marrow transplant team at Intermountain Health’s LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. She supports patients in Salt Lake City, North Salt Lake, Sugar House, and surrounding communities, treating leukemia, lymphoma, with clinical interests in bone marrow transplants, and solid tumors. She thoroughly enjoys the complexity of bone marrow transplant cases. It is challenging managing multiple body systems and there is always something new to learn.
As a provider, she believes that every individual affected by cancer deserves respectful, holistic care that acknowledges the physical, emotional, social, cultural, and spiritual dimensions of health. She wants every patient to be an active participant in their care, with the right to make informed decisions regarding their health journey. Oncology is her passion, and she considers it an honor to help patients navigate one of the most difficult challenges of their lives.
Born in Sacramento, California, but spent most of her growing years in Utah. She’s a mother of five and has been married to her best friend for almost 20 years. Amanda loves spending time with her family and going on adventures. She also loves reading and spending time in her garden in her limited free time. A fun fact about her is that she used to sing professionally.
